NASS Suspends Legislative Activities for 7 Days to Mourn Former President Buhari
The National Assembly has suspended all legislative activities for 7 days to honor the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82.
Details of the Suspension:
- Duration: July 14, 2025, to July 22, 2025
- Reason: To honor the legacy and service of the late President
- Activities Affected: All legislative activities, including plenary sessions, committee meetings, and oversight duties
Tributes and Condolences:
The NASS leadership extended heartfelt condolences to:
- The Government and People of Nigeria
- The Government and People of Katsina State
- The Buhari Family
Burial Arrangements:
- A national service will be held at the Eagle Square in Abuja on July 20
- The coffin will then be taken to Daura, Buhari’s hometown, for final rites
