The Edo State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old suspect, Kingdom Paul, for allegedly murdering a 38-year-old woman, Victory Oro, in Benin. The incident occurred last Thursday at a local lodge where the two had met for a paid sexual encounter.
After completing their arrangement, a disagreement reportedly broke out between Paul and Oro, during which Paul allegedly stabbed her. Oro was rushed to a hospital on Upper Ekenwan Road, but she later succumbed to her injuries. Her body has been deposited in the hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
The suspect was among several individuals paraded by the Edo Police Command in Benin City. SP Moses Joel Yamu, the Edo State Police Spokesman, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is ongoing.
In his confession, Paul admitted to attacking Oro suddenly and without any clear reason, despite having earlier agreed to pay her N2,000 for the encounter.
