2025 Erasmus Mundus Master’s Scholarships in Aquaculture and Environment – Fully Funded for International Students

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Aquaculture, Environment, and Society Plus (EMJMD ACES+) offers an exceptional opportunity for international students to pursue advanced studies in aquaculture across multiple European research institutions in Scotland, Crete, France, and the Netherlands. This program combines rigorous academic coursework with hands-on industry experience, equipping students with both practical and theoretical skills needed for a successful career in aquaculture.

Scholarship Coverage

Funded by the European Union’s EACEA, the Erasmus Mundus scholarships cover:

  • Full tuition fees for the duration of the program
  • Contributions towards travel and relocation expenses
  • A stipend for daily living costs

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (second class honors or higher) in fields related to biological or environmental sciences, such as aquaculture, marine science, aquatic biology, or environmental studies focused on marine and fisheries science.
  • For non-UK students, proof of English proficiency via a Secure English Language Test (SELT) is required. Applicants must achieve an IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component). If IELTS centers remain closed, the LanguageCert International Communicator ESOL B2 test is accepted and can be completed online.

Note: Students from specific English-speaking countries or those holding qualifications equivalent to a UK Bachelor’s degree taught in recognized countries (e.g., the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Caribbean nations) are exempt from this requirement.

Application and Selection Process

  1. Application Review: Applications are initially screened for completeness and eligibility.
  2. Shortlisting and Interview: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on their application materials (50% of the selection score), followed by an interview (50% of the score).
  3. Final Notification: Successful candidates will receive their final scores and scholarship recommendations in April. Decisions consider academic merit, geographical diversity, and gender balance among applicants.
