Scholarship Opportunities
- Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship
- Award: 1 scholarship valued at $80,000, disbursed as $20,000 annually over four years.
- President’s Entrance Scholarships
- Award Breakdown:
- 1 scholarship of $70,000 ($25,000 for year one and $15,000 annually for the remaining three years).
- 4 scholarships of $65,000 each ($20,000 for year one and $15,000 annually for the next three years).
- Up to 15 scholarships of $50,000 each ($20,000 for year one and $10,000 annually for years two to four).
- Award Breakdown:
- James Jenkins President’s Entrance Scholarship for Black Students
- Award: 5 scholarships of $50,000 each ($20,000 for year one and $10,000 annually for the following three years).
- Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship
- Award: 1 scholarship valued at $92,000, awarded as $23,000 annually over four years.
- Note: This scholarship requires proof of financial need and a supplemental application.
- Neen Hodgins President’s International Entrance Scholarship
- Award: 1 scholarship valued at up to $80,000, disbursed as $20,000 per year for four years.
- International President’s Entrance Scholarships
- Award: 3 scholarships of $100,000 each.
- Faculty Entrance Scholarships
- Award: Up to 15 scholarships valued at $30,000 each ($12,000 for year one and $6,000 annually for years two to four).
- National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards
- Award:
- $2,500 for study abroad programs lasting up to four months.
- $5,000 for programs exceeding four months.
- Award:
- National Merit Awards
- Award: A one-time $2,000 award for students interviewed for a National Scholarship but not selected, provided they accept admission to Western University’s main campus. Recipients are also eligible for Admission Scholarships worth $2,500–$8,000.
Note: Recipients of National Scholarships or Schulich Leader Scholarships are not eligible for Western’s Excellence, Distinction, or Admission Scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship:
- Applicants (except for international-specific scholarships) must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Academic Performance:
- A minimum overall average of 90% in all Grade 12U/M courses (or equivalent).
- University Admission:
- Applicants must apply for admission to Western University’s main campus and enroll as full-time students.
- Specific Scholarships:
- International Baccalaureate (IB) and CEGEP students are eligible.
- The Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship requires a supplemental application to demonstrate financial need.
Nomination Process
- Each school may nominate up to four students for the program. Schools may nominate one additional international (visa) student.
- Nominations are for consideration across all available scholarships within the National Scholarship Program, not for a specific award.
- Schools are responsible for determining their internal nomination process.

How to Apply
Note:
- Please ensure that you have submitted your application for admission to the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) indicating Western’s main campus as one of your choices.
- The National Scholarship Application is an on-line application. In order to access the on-line National Scholarship application the OUAC reference number is required.
- The online National Scholarship application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by the February 14, 2025 deadline. If supporting documentation is mailed, it must be received, not postmarked, at Western by the February 14, 2025 deadline.
