In a dramatic turn of events, a group of women in Abuja has taken to social media to protest against the nonpayment of their promised allowance for participating in a counter-protest organized by supporters of APC’s Bola Tinubu. The women, who had been promised 5,000 naira each, were stranded without money, food, water, or transport fare after the event.

“We were deceived” one woman revealed in a video shared by Twitter user, X-daily. She explained that they had been lured to the event with the promise of receiving food items but were used for a political agenda and abandoned without any support.

The incident has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, where many users have mocked the women for their predicament.

Twitter user @Jayaashy commented, “Justice was swift for them, the cries of starved Nigerians got answered quickly against the traitors.”

@EricEnoghayiag2 wrote, “Imagine they were kidnapped or got in an accident on their way just for 5k. Nigerians are just not there at all.”

Another user, @skymuk, bluntly stated, “You people will suffer. Because of 5k.”

@urchmonniie added, “The women dey craze. Selling their children’s future for 5k, their children no get future sef.”

While some criticized the women for their participation, others directed their anger at the organizers, condemning them for exploiting vulnerable individuals for political purposes. The incident highlights the desperation faced by many Nigerians and the lengths to which people will go to survive in a challenging economic climate.

As the story unfolds, there are growing calls for the organizers to be held accountable and for measures to be put in place to protect citizens from such exploitation. The plight of the women serves as a poignant reminder of the broader issues of poverty and manipulation within political events in Nigeria.
