Objectives of the Fund
The Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists provides grants to help women journalists:

- Pursue training and leadership opportunities to enhance skill sets and networks.

Grant Information
Each year, the IWMF awards $230,000 in grants for projects by women journalists. The grant amounts are flexible, and there is no set limit on the number of grants awarded within this annual funding total.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this funding, applicants must:
- Identify as women.
- Be professional journalists, for whom journalism is a primary occupation.
- Have a minimum of three years’ professional experience in journalism.
- If applying as part of a team, the lead applicant must be a woman, and the team should consist of at least 50% women.
