“Going to Prison changed my perspective about freedom”- Omah Lay

Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has spoken about his ordeal in prison in Uganda, how it affected his life and career.

Recall that Omah Lay and Tems were arrested and charged to court in Uganda, for making a concert appearance in Speke Resort, Kampala on December 12, 2020 due to the COVID-19 regulations.

They were imprisoned for 3 days and granted bail.

While speaking in a recent interview on Amazon Music, Omah Lay, he talked about how going to has changed his perspective about freedom.

”After being in that cell for three days, I just love my freedom so much now that I fight for it with every record… I don’t want to give Uganda so much credit for locking me up, but that shifted my perspective about freedom,” Omah Lay said.
