Ghanaian football coach Otto Addo has showed is dedication and fearsome, after saying he can drop Kudus or any player in the squad.
Addo said this while addressing journalists on Thursday after naming his 25-man squad for the upcoming AFCON Qualification matches.
He dropped Thomas Partey from his squad, withdrew the captaincy from Kudus and gave it Jordan Ayew.
The coach mentioned that he did not pick players because of the club they play for or their status in the country, but based on their individual talent and contributions.
“It’s not about local or non-local. It’s about performance. If you train well, why should I leave you on the bench? If I think you are better than whoever—Kudus or whoever—then why should I let him play?” He said.
“I want to win. I’m not doing anything just to please somebody. And to be honest, I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid to put whoever on the bench. I’m not afraid. But I’m looking at the performance.”
