George Akume, The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, met with the Ministers on Wednesday, July 24, to talk about the Nationwide Protests against the economic hardship of the country, by the Nigerian youths.
PALNDO reports that this meeting happened confidentially, and all ministers of the Presidential Cabinet, were in attendance.
Some of the ministers present were Nyesom Wike (Federal Capital Territory), Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs), Zephaniah Jisalo (Special Duties), Tahir Mamman (Education), and Abubakar Bagudu (Budget and Planning), Wale Edun (Finance), Mohammed Idris (Information), Bello Matawalle (Defence), David Umahi (Works), and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
This meeting is currently still in progress.
It was earlier reported that on Tuesday, July 23, the President Tinubu has implored the Nigerian youths to jettison the “#EndBadGovernance Protest”, which was scheduled to happen next month, August 1st.
The Protest, which is currently going viral on all social medial platforms, is set to take place in all states, across the country.
The organisers of this protest still remains, unidentified.
This protest is to tackle the escalating price of food and basic commodities in the country, in the past few months, and also to tackle the country’s worst inflation and economic crisis, which has been initiated by the government’s dual policies of nullifying petrol subsidies and the integration of forex windows.
