In line with the Lagos State Government’s Eko Care initiative. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered that a 25% discount on food items at the Sunday market, ‘Ounje Eko’, statewide, should be implemented.
This was disclosed in a statement shared on X.com by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday, August 28
The statement reads, “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the Sunday market Ounjè Eko, with a 25% cut in prices should return on Sunday.”
Agric and Food Systems Commissioner, Abisola Olusanya tells the media that, “all is set. Lagosians, are you ready?”
Accompanied with the statement is a video showing the Commissioner addressing the journalists.
The Commissioner also provided clarification on the 25% discount on food prices. He also stated that the deduction would be based on the prevailing market rates.
