One of the organisers of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, the ‘Take It Back Movement.’ Has disapproved of the attacks by some men of the Nigeria Police Force. That was done to the protesters gathered at the Berger Roundabout. Of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Early on Friday, police officers that are stationed at the roundabout. Fired teargas at protesters and journalists. Who are gathered at the venue for the second day of the protest.
The Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, Mr Damilare Adenola. Said that, the actions of the policemen were a reminder. That the administration’s claim of upholding the tenets of democracy. That it is “nothing but a facade.”
He noted that it is disregard for human rights. And would only further provoke impoverished and hungry Nigerians, who will not be silenced.
Adenola said: “Today’s brutal harassment of peaceful protesters at Berger Junction by the police is a stark reminder that the Tinubu administration’s claims of democracy are nothing but a facade.“
“Despite donning the garb of freedom, its actions reek of tyranny. Because this blatant disregard for human rights will only serve to further provoke the already impoverished and hungry Nigerians. Who will not be silenced.”
