Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the Newcastle University Sanctuary Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an asylum seeker, the child of an asylum seeker, an unaccompanied minor seeking asylum, or a refugee not eligible for government aid through Student Finance.
- Be a UK resident at the time of application, with preference given to residents of North East England (Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Northumberland, Cleveland, and North Cumbria).
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree program at Newcastle University (preference will be given to first-degree applicants).
- Meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen degree program.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency, either through the course’s requirements or through equivalent qualifications.
