Chelsea forward, Nicolas Jackson has fired back at former Blues midfielder Mikel Obi. Who had recently criticised his performance.
Jackson bluntly told the ex-Chelsea star to “shut his mouth”. This came after Mikel suggested the striker squandered too many chances during last Sunday’s match against Manchester City.
Mikel had also hinted that Chelsea might want to explore signing Victor Osimhen as a potential alternative.
Meanwhile, the Senegalese forward quoted an image from a popular soccer page, #433. Following his opener in Sunday’s clash with the Wolverhampton Wanderers, which the Blues won 6-2.
“Jackson answered his critics on the pitch by scoring Chelsea’s opening goal in their 6-2 victory over Wolves, marking the club’s fastest Premier League goal since 2017,” the post read.
Jackson celebrated after scoring during the EPL match between Wolves and Chelsea FC at Molineux.
Following the match, he took to social media to address Mikel’s comments directly.
“Mikel Obi, shut your mouth, don’t talk sh*t, we are killing ourselves for Africa,” Jackson wrote in a post on Instagram, making his feelings about the criticism clear.
The forward headed in at the back post inside the opening two minutes for Chelsea’s first goal.
Mikel, 37, had aimed for Jackson’s goal-scoring prowess on beIN Sport during Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Man City last weekend.
The Blues icon said, “We created chances, we haven’t taken them. And just an example of how Jackson finishes.”
“You can see there, even though he was offside, he dribbles past one or two or three players and the way he shoots the ball!”
“You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball back in the back of the net and that’s what we don’t have.”
“I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don’t disrespect him.”
“But, i think at Chelsea Football Club, we need a top striker who can get us a goal.”
“A bit like Haaland, 91 goals for City. That’s absolutely unbelievable.”
Chelsea will host fellow London club, Crystal Palace at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday, September 1, in EPL game week three.
