Bond by Covenant Part two Episode 1– Two bed one Room.

Spread the love

Esther prayed through the night. “Lord, You joined us. Keep us together, guide us.” Dawn broke, and still the answers had not come, but the peace of God settled over her. Daniel, rising for morning prayers, joined her. Together, hands clasped, they recommitted to their covenant, trusting God with the unseen.

Financial strain crept into their home. Daniel worked late nights, returning exhausted. Esther, balancing the home and her prayers, felt the weight of responsibility. Silence grew between them. Love, once easy and effortless, now required deliberate action.

One evening, Daniel returned home late, skipping dinner. Esther had prepared his favorite meal, now cold on the table. Her eyes met his briefly, a question unspoken, and he nodded, feeling the silent judgment and love intertwined.

Night fell, but they slept back-to-back. Words once easy became heavy. Prayer stopped, intimacy faded. The home felt cold despite their bodies sharing the same space. Suspense and uncertainty thickened the air.

Esther whispered a prayer in the dark, “Lord, revive our hearts, our love, our marriage.” Daniel, though asleep, felt the words in the room, like a quiet echo of hope that refused to die.

The women gathered after service, wrappers tied tightly, voices soft but sharp.

“Esther, a woman must secure her future,” said one aunt, smiling but with an edge. “You cannot wait forever. Sometimes prayer alone is not enough.”

Esther smiled politely, but inside, the words felt like daggers. She had prayed, fasted, and believed in God’s timing. Yet the room whispered a different language—fear disguised as advice.

That night, Esther knelt beside her bed. “Lord, protect my heart from doubt. Help me walk in Your way and not be swayed by human fear.”

Daniel met his friends at the table, drinks in hand, laughter echoing in the room.

“A man must not be ruled by emotions,” Kola said, slapping his knee. “Sometimes, a second wife is God’s solution.”

Daniel nodded stiffly, though his heart shrank. Inside, he knew his pride and love for Esther were under siege. He returned home that night, weary, wrestling silently between what society expected and what his heart demanded.

Esther noticed the heaviness in his eyes. “Are you alright?” she asked softly. Daniel forced a smile, but she could feel the tension between them growing.

Days passed. The Bible gathered dust on the shelf. Evening prayers that once filled the home with warmth now fell silent.

Esther attempted to pray, but Daniel brushed her aside, exhausted and silent. The house, once vibrant with faith, now felt heavy and empty.

Alone in the darkness, Esther whispered, “Lord, return Your fire to our home. Let our hearts speak again in prayer, not fear.”
