A Twitter user, @IfedolapoOsun, has publicly accused singer Davido of failing to fulfill a promise for a Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media role. In a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter), @IfedolapoOsun shared screenshots of his conversations with Davido to support claims.
@IfedolapoOsun recounted his initial interaction with Davido starting June 14, 2022, when the artist followed him on Twitter. After reaching out to express gratitude, Davido requested his account details for a monetary gift
He wrote,
“Dear @davido
“I was at work when I started receiving numerous calls from Family and friends that What transpired between you and @davido. I was seriously surprised to hear that, because myself and Davido still chatted on Wednesday which was 14/08/2024 when he saw that I left PDP.
“My journey with Davido started on June 14 2022 when he Followed me on Twitter. I enter his DM to show appreciation and he acknowledged the appreciation by saying I should SEND MY ACCOUNT DETAILS for some Money which I did immediately I saw the message. After like 3 days That I didn’t see any money from @davido. I asked again and I got no reply and I moved on. After some weeks, I was offline when David came to my DM to ask about the Ongoing court case between Adeleke and Gboyega Oyetola the then Governor (Now Minister) I saw the message and I Replied him with details of the court and what we were going through in the court (pictures attached).
“Our chatting continues like that for sometimes until after we finally won in the court of law.
After the swear-in. I came to Davido to let him know what my priority is and what I was eyeing in the government if probably he can be off help. David himself asked me that CAN I DO SSA TO THE GOVERNOR ON NEW MEDIA which I said yes, and he told me he can do it.
“He requested for my number And Instagram account which I gave to him in the hope that He will call me or message me later base on what he promised me (SSA to Governor on New Media.
“Meanwhile, during the court case. I was robbed off my phones and some Gadget, so he took me 3 days before I could come back online. On coming back, I explained what happened to Him and he asked me that what did I need, I said I wanna get a new phone and new laptop for easy Work. I was asked to list everything I want which I did, LADIES BIKE was part of what I asked for. Everything I have asked for is based on the fact that he made the move to give me.
“However, After sending my account did he send me money?? No! The SSA he promised did he fulfill The promise? No! The ladies bike, Did he buy it for me? No!
“Even after everything he promised me and refused to fulfill any, he’s still someone I respect so much that I discussed everything that happened between me and some people in government with. @davido is the reason why Refused the first advance my friends and leaders of APC made to me Last year. After I discussed everything with him with no reply. I decided to move on and join APC earlier this year along with my leaders.
“On Wednesday 14 of this month, I recieved David message in my DM He was feeling surprised that I had left PDP and above is my reply and we moved on.
“I was surprised to see him attacking my personality with unnecessary screenshots even though you didn’t do any of those things you posted.
“David is someone I love so much that I couldn’t make a Single post against PDP because I don’t know how he’s gonna feel seeing me against PDP and his cousin until I took a bold step to first Unfollow him on X(Twitter) and moved on.
“Although, I don’t know why he deleted the tweets, but he lost my respect immediately I received Numerous calls calling my attention to the his comments.
“However, David can always do better next time.
