On Thursday president Tinubu received the newly appointed United States ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Richard Mills Jr., with a letter of credence.
They discussed about the importance of true democracy and the president emphasize on his belief in freedom and democracy.
President Tinubu, also spoke about looking forward to the continuous cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.
The president also mentioned that during the military era, he was part of the groups that protested against dictatorship.
“In as much as we believe that demonstrations are part of democracy we will never encourage any protest that lead to the destruction of lives and property” The President said.
