International afrobeat Singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has received a Royal plaque from his majesty, Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II.

The Oba gifted him this plague on Thursday after the singer visited the palace, ahead of his homecoming concert at Ogbe Stadium, Benin City.

Rema after paying homage to the king, sang one of his songs ‘Baby Calm Down,’ to his surprise everybody present started singing after him.

Palndo recently reported that the singer joined the governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki in the groundbreaking of Edo Arena, a 60,000-capacity structure, the governor said the area will be named after Rema, it will be called Rema Arena.

In Rema’s latest hit ‘Benin Boys’ where he featured Shallipopi, he said he deserved a medal from the Oba for a job well done, promoting the city of Benin.
