The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) in Engineering of Data-intensive Intelligent Software Systems (EDISS) is a specialized program for aspiring experts in software engineering and data-driven system design. The EDISS program combines advanced training in software engineering, data collection, and machine learning with hands-on experience in data pipelines, DataOps, and data architectures to create high-quality, intelligent software systems.

Program Overview

This two-year, 120 ECTS program is a collaboration among four prominent universities, with Åbo Akademi University in Finland serving as the entry university for all students. In the second year, students follow a customized mobility path within one of EDISS’s three specialization tracks. Each student’s placement for the second year will be based on preferences, academic performance, and faculty recommendations.

Throughout the program, students gain valuable industry experience through a mandatory internship, participate in a winter school, and graduate with a double master’s degree from Åbo Akademi University and a second-year institution.
