Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has shed light on his decision to feature Davidoand Wizkid—two Afrobeats heavyweights known for their long-standing rivalry—on his new album, Industry Machine.
The project, which dropped on Sunday, includes Davido and Seun Kuti on track five, “Grooving,” while Wizkid appears on track six, “Big Time.” The 23-track body of work also features top acts like Skepta, Stormzy, Giggs, and Chike.
During a recent interview on ATTW Space, Odumodublvck explained that he didn’t let the well-documented tension between Davido and Wizkid influence his artistic choices.
“Those guys are men—real men,” he said. “At the end of the day, when we all get to heaven’s gate, Davido and Wizkid will be inside. Some people will still be outside arguing over who they support. Does that make any sense? As a man, I can’t choose sides over disagreements I know nothing about.”
Odumodublvck went on to describe himself as a peacemaker, saying his decision was inspired by a desire to foster unity rather than division in the industry.
“God said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the kingdom of God.’ I put them on tracks five and six hoping, by God’s grace, that one day both of them will find peace and maybe even become friends again,” he said.
The Declan Rice hitmaker also emphasized that what truly matters in life is righteousness, not rivalry or hate.
“My mom always said we should pray for others to inherit the kingdom of God. This world is already tough—why should we add more hate?” he shared. “Both Wizkid and Davido played a huge role in my journey. Wizkid was the first to post my music, and Davido was the second. I didn’t need to convince anyone about my talent.”
Odumodublvck further revealed that both artists agreed to be part of his album purely out of respect for his craft.
“They know they’re on my album out of grace and respect. I didn’t pay them a dime,” he disclosed. “In fact, the track I did with Wizkid wasn’t even mine—he gave me that song.”
With Industry Machine, Odumodublvck not only showcases his musical growth but also sends a powerful message about unity, gratitude, and peace in the Nigerian music scene.
